GE / KALATEL
Storesafe Series DVR, Calibur Series DVMRe
Most GE DVRs have a built-in system to automatically change times at
the proper dates for Daylight Savings. There is also a manual setting
for users who wish to handle time and date settings themselves. If using
manual settings you will have to adjust to match the correct time twice
a year. Older DVRs lack the built-in system and must either have their firmware upgraded or must be set manually.
If you use the automatic settings for Daylight Savings and if the time changes occur in April/October instead of
March/November, the DVR may require a firmware upgrade which can be installed by a qualified technician. Until you
choose to have the firmware upgraded, you will have to use the manual settings as detailed below.
To adjust the time:
- From the Front Panel, open the main menu and enter in your 4-digit panel password.
- Select Time/Date.
- Select "Set Time".
- With the time highlighted, adjust by rotating the jog to change the numbers and using the shuttle to switch between hours/minutes/seconds.
- Press Enter to confirm the changes, then rotate the jog to OK and hit enter to save the changes.
The procedure for changing the date is very similar:
- From the Front Panel, open the main menu and enter in your 4-digit panel password.
- Select Time/Date.
- Select "Set Date".
- With the date highlighted, adjust by rotating the jog to change the numbers and using the shuttle to switch between day/month/year.
- Press Enter to confirm the changes, then rotate the jog to OK and hit enter to save the changes.
There is a setting to allow a Storesafe DVR to automatically handle Daylight Savings without
user intervention. If you wish to use this function it can be set as follows:
- From the Front Panel, open the main menu and enter in your 4-digit panel password.
- Select Time/Date.
- Select "Set Region".
- Region should be set to "USA2". The "USA" region is the original DST dates in April and October. If you choose "OFF", you will have to set daylight savings time manually as detailed above.
- Please set the time zone accurately. Failure to set the time zone accurately will result in the DVR making the hour shift at an improper time.
The "Set Region" menu also shows the dates for daylight savings. If the "USA2" region is not available, the displayed
dates will be based upon the previous DST rules, changing in April/October instead of March/November. In this case
the DVR requires a firmware upgrade which can be installed by a qualified technician. Until you choose to have the
firmware upgraded, you will have to use the manual settings as detailed above.
