Continuing Development
Ellis Don Constructors has awarded the next phase of Concord Adex's Condominium Project to Fitch Surveillance Systems.
This latest high rise residential project called Discovery includes all security systems for over 1100 condominium suites
in its new North York location - the first of many more to be developed by the developer. The project includes installation
of a full CCTV system, Keyscan Access Control system, DSC suite alarms, duress system and touch-screen Mesh entry directories.
This is the tenth such project Concord Adex, through its General or Electrical Contractors, have awarded Fitch Surveillance
since their beginning of development of the Toronto Rail Lands in Downtown Toronto in 2002.
New Project
Tridel awards Fitch Surveillance the Parc Nuvo Condominium Project, a 342 suite luxury condominium in Etobicoke. This project,
the last of four phases at this site which were all completed by Fitch, include a full CCTV system with Panasonic cameras
and digital recorders, a Verex fully-integrated suite security intrusion and Access Control system, intercom duress system
and touch screen Mesh entry directories with a "no-phone-line" EnterPhone backplane. A single Verex
integrated platform can control all aspects of building security and a single key chain "fob" performs building entry
functions for both regular door and overhead doors. In addition the fobs provide built-in monitored panic alarm functions
within the parking garage. The system not only helps determine where the person in duress is, but identifies the individual as well.

Successful Arrest
Fitch Surveillance reports its involvement with the recent press of two suspected thieves caught on video
at Toronto East General Hospital stealing property from elderly and dying patients. Fitch has been the security vendor for TEGH
for many years and have installed several hundred cameras (mostly Panasonic) and GE DVRs recording them.
Ed Fitchett, President of Fitch, states "that after now reportedly stealing from nine other Hospitals
before being identified and arrested, we are delighted with the outcome - the video images in-hand and off of our equipment."
We congratulate the TEGH Security Staff for a job well done in both allowing the quality of the coverage / equipment to be in place
there and for the effort in tracking down the intruders.
Reported details of this incident are available on our Articles page.
New Project
Quadra Management Inc awards Fitch Surveillance the Woodbridge Gates Condominium Project, a 233-suite luxury condominium
north of Toronto. The project includes CCTV with digital recorders, an access control and enterphone system,
and ULC fire and Elevator monitoring services. This is the second project Fitch has worked on with Quadra.
CCTV Addition
The University of Toronto - St. Michaels College has awarded a CCTV addition to Fitch
consisting of Panasonic cameras and GE DVRs. The campus has has many similar such installations by Fitch in its buildings
which are located, in many cases, far apart from each other.
Fitch has worked with St. Michaels for many years using existing cables, conduits and networks to allow the client
to have centralized and coherent monitoring of its campus.

New Location
The hotel developers for Marriott Courtyard Hotels have awarded Fitch Surveillance the contract for CCTV and Intercom Systems
for a new location in Kingston. The system consists of exterior and interior cameras and intercoms at strategic locations.
The Hotel is the 6th such location awarded to Fitch in the last few years.
New Facility
Consolidated Aviation Fuels, the sole-source fuel supplier to Toronto's Pearson Airport, has chosen Fitch Surveillance Systems
to provide a CCTV, Access Control and Intercom system for a new fuel storage and off-loading facility in Mississauga.
The CCTV system is made up of GE pan-tilt-zoom 36X low-light cameras mounted on hi-mast poles
overlooking the storage and rail yard tanker off-loading facility and GE DVRs.
Long distances, the environmental/hazardous conditions and the likelihood of lightning strikes made this installation challenging.
Gate access controls and remote intercoms allow the facility to operate in a secure fashion with the communications,
access control and CCTV systems being fully controllable from the client's office at Pearson via WAN connections.
Fitch has looked after CAF security since the buildings of its new offices over 10 years ago.
January 2010
New Projects
Streetcar Developments of Toronto has awarded the security contracts to Fitch for 3 of its Boutique Condominium projects
called the "Corktown District". The project includes CCTV systems with digital recorders, access control
and enterphone systems, and ULC fire and Elevator monitoring services.
Project Retrofit
An electrical contractor has awarded Fitch Surveillance the retrofit of the CCTV system at Ontario's Superior Court
at 361 University Avenue in Toronto. The retrofit includes the installation of eight poles with over a total of
30 Pelco cameras mounted. This enables a full-time view and recorded record of all exterior activity in all directions simultaneously.
The front end is a Pelco 9760 matrix switch with Pelco DX8116 DVRs each with over 6TB of storage.
The master controls are installed in a custom Winsted modular desk with control of over 130 cameras on the site.
Fitch has been involved with the security at this facility since the Paul Bernardo trial took place there in 1995.
New Facility
Fitch Surveillance was awarded the contract for the CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion and Intercom Systems, along with Fire Monitoring,
at a new Self-Storage facility in Kitchener.
The CCTV System consists of Speco Digital Video Recorders with internal and external Panasonic color dome cameras.
The Access Control is a Digitech system designed for Self-Storage applications of this type, requiring access both onto the property
and into the building. A DigiCall intercom system allows the site manager to freely roam and still have communications
to the entry gates when he is not in the office.
